We have been on pins and needles around the house all weekend waiting for any sign that our little girl is on her way but as of now there has been nothing, zip, nada. God is good and we know that she will come when He knows best, so please pray for patience for Heather and I and that baby Lundy would come soon (preferably tonight).

We did have some neat stuff happen today as we were out and about on a relaxing Sunday afternoon. We ran into an elderly lady at Starbucks that came up and asked me when Heather was due and what we were having. When we told her she asked what we were naming her, and come to find out it was her name as well (we've not met many with her name yet)!! She said it was a sign from God that baby Lundy is on her way soon. Also, another couple who we met at one of our birthing classes and have grown close with had their water break tonight, so they are well on their way. All great things to happen on d day.

Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers as we wait this one out. Bags are packed, mom and dad are ready... more to come soon

Baby Lundy Update

I know that anyone looking at this site from yesterday on is wondering one thing...is she here?? Here's the update for all of you loved ones out there. Baby Lundy's officially due date is Sunday (02/10/08), so we still have a few days left, however Heather would tell you otherwise. She is in pain and feeling overall crummy (can't sleep, can't sit, can't stand, etc.), which I've heard is a sign that we are close to d-day. At our last visit on Tuesday Heather was dilated to a 2.5 and about 85% effaced and ready to go at any time. We have tried everything that the books say to do to get this girl out but she is just taking her time.

I know that this is all in God's timing but it is painstaking, especially for Heather. I kind of feel like a kid before Christmas just waiting for that moment when I can finally see my daughter with my own eyes. Keep checking back for updates...I think she'll be here before the weekend is over =). Thank you all so much for your support and prayers. I have received more phone calls and text messages in the past two days then I have in a while, and I want you all to know how much it means to us. It's amazing to see the family that God has put us with come together in such a time as this. You all are amazing!! =)

We love all of you!! What is strange is that Heather and I have set certain milestones that would help mark how close we were until little baby Lundy is actualy here and over the past two days we've passed two of them. One of my mentors at Starbucks had her baby today (she and Heather were not too far apart) and Christmas is done!! (I'm starting to have trouble breathing) Also, we received some very cool baby gifts this Christmas which is quite a change from the previous 28 years that I've celebrated Christmas. Ahhhh I guess it's God's way of telling me that it's time to grow up.

As soon as we got home we put the stuff together for the little tike, and here you go:

(I'm feeling faint now) It's becoming more and more real now...and scary. With a little under 8 weeks to go, reality is hitting home pretty quick. Heather and I both took our first official parenting class together last week and it took me until about half-way through it to realize that it actually related to what we will be doing. I have never changed a diaper, so to listen to our teacher talk for 3 hours about how to wash a baby, burp a baby, swaddle a baby, install a car seat, how not to install a car seat.....left my head spinning. I know things will be great and we will learn so much just by trail and error but I just don't want to warp her too early in her life.

Reality is hitting Heather as well as it is becoming increasingly harder and harder for her to do the basic things she so regularly did (e.g. sleep). I know that this is all normal but it's kind of heart wrenching to watch her go through pain and sleepless nights as she battles the natural toll having a baby has on her body. Baby Lundy is getting so big and we can see her every move now, which is almost like watching 'Alien' take place right in our bedroom. It is so cool to watch he move around when I talk or play music to her and it makes me long even more for the day that she will be here. What a miracle. =)

We love you all and thank you so much for your continued thoughts and prayers for our little girl. I was approached today by another friend who asked that age old question, "What's up with your blog?? I mean when will you post again?" Great question. It seems like Heather and I have both hit that point in our lives again where there are so many things that are going on that we have a hard time making time to post. Plus we have no Internet access at the house, so to post would mean us getting in our car and driving around the corner to find a free access point (which we never do.....right?? Do you see what I mean??). However tonight I can and will do my best to update all of you curious folks out there as to what's new with the Lundys.

Baby Lundy and momma are doing really really well as we officially move into the last trimester as of today!! She (baby) is kicking and moving around a ton now and it is wild to watch. A few weeks ago only Heather could really feel her moving around and would tell me however now I can see her move from almost across the room. She is a mover and a shaker and has started to react to my voice or music that we play for her at night (she loves jazz). We just had our last appointment and the Doctor says that all is measuring well so far and that all signs point to a healthy little girl =). We'll have one more sonogram next week so hopefully we'll post those pictures as soon as we are able.

Edmond has been a great place to live and we truly feel like we are connecting with more people than we have in a long time. It's so odd, in a great way, to actually have people to talk to outside of work again. We've become involved in a home group at our new church (Life Church) and the folks involved are really an amazing group of people who we've gelled within only 3 times of us meeting. We've also been involved with one of our old friends from Fort Worth who works with Young Life here in Edmond and he has introduced us to many great folks as well. We feel very fortunate to be where we are right now in our life as know that God has moved us here for a reason and it seems as if it is playing out right in front of our eyes. What it is specifically we're not sure, but there is something cool happening.

There are so many changes happening right now with work life and everything in between that at this point we are just trying to hold on and enjoy the ride until we get a chance to process everything in our minds. Please pray for Baby Lundy as she continues to grow, mommy Lundy as she continues to feel the physical strains of being in her third trimester, and for daddy Lundy as he begins a new job (with all that encompasses). Please also pray that we would be prepared to be the parents we are supposed to be and that we would be ready to handle whatever will come over the next several months.

Thanks again for your interest and we will try our best to keep this thing up to date =)

Much love,
The Lundys

It's a girl!!!

God is good! Our time in Edmond, although short, has been filled with an amazing amount of God’s workings that have led up to our appointment on Thursday, and I would be remiss if I didn’t mention what He has been doing in the Lundy family lately.

Within our first week here we were reconnected with an old friend that Heather used to work with about four years ago. The family is amazing and asked us out to dinner our first weekend here during which we were asked to a Young Life event, which is the organization which he works with, the next evening. Not only did we have a great time at the event but we met several amazing people, one of which was a OB/GYN who practices in Edmond. When we arrived she sought out Heather and I and gave us specific instructions on how to get into her group of doctors so that she could “Take care of us”. We had been very worried about this since we had no idea who we were going to see or how to even go about finding a Doctor not knowing the area. Heather found the doctor’s information and by Monday we had an appointment to see the her that Thursday, which just so happened to be the only day I could have joined her for the visit.

When we showed up on Thursday we had no idea what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. The Doctor has the most wonderful bedside manner of any that we have ever seen. Not only was she very knowledgeable (as all Doctors are) but she took her time with us explaining the ins and outs of everything that we may not have know about fully. She gave us practical advice and guidance and shared her sincere joy with us that this baby was coming along so well. After Heather’s checkup and hearing the heartbeat she informed us that we would need to get an 18-20 week sonogram within the next week if not within the next few days. I asked her if there was any way to get one done that day to which she walked outside and asked her nurse to fit us in as soon as possible that day, which happened to be 30 minutes from that time. Awesome!!

The sonogram was intense as they did all the measurements to make sure all is growing well and looks fine, which it did. All things measured well and the baby is growing at a normal rate (the ass to ankle ratio was almost perfect...better than the doctor had ever seen before, which made me happy). During the sonogram the radiologist kept saying over and over how lucky we were to have our Doctor as she was, in his opinion, one of the best around. Awesome!! And then he let us know that we are having a little girl, my prayer from the beginning. She is a mover and squirmed around like crazy and likes to lay with her hand on her nose like her mom. We could also see her moving her mouth a lot which might indicate that she’s a talker already! The next day the Doctor called Heather at home to talk about the sonogram and to see what we were having and was genuinely joyous with and for us. How awesome is that??

Words cannot express how I feel when I look at these pictures. All I can do is look back to Psalm 139 where David expresses almost the same feelings saying, “For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mothers womb. I will give thanks to You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them”. So often I need control of all things in my life to make sure they will go exactly how I need them to, but this is something I cannot do anything about, I control nothing. Yet God has done more than I could have imagined. Our little girl is being formed right at this moment through God’s workmanship and it is perfect. She has everything she needs and it’s all from Him and there is nothing I can do but sit back in awe and say that He is good and gives us all we need. God bless you all.

With much love,
-Mommy and Daddy Lundy

We love the musings!!

Randomness for all of y'all:

-I started my new job on Monday and I think it's going to be a grand time!! I really really enjoy this area and my peers are very cool. More to come about this later.

-Fantasy football: How can one person really be so bad at this. I know there are a lot of stats to read and homework to do, but it can't be that hard, can it? For the second year in a row I got trashed on my first week and this year I put some serious effort in my draft. Obviosly hard work doth not equal positive results all the time. Maybe it's just my bad attitude that creeping into it all. Here's a perfect example: I get the number two pick for the draft, Steven Jackson, who's going to be my rainmaker....I mean my ace in the hole, my rock, my boy! Week #1 he fumbles twice and gets a whopping 1 point. The move went very smooth (or smoothly??) and we are getting settled in. Sorry for lack of posts after the fridge move (one reader was very upset at our lack of progress on blog posts) but we do not have internet access at our new house yet. I am working on a way to rig up our rabbit ears straight into our computer, and I'll keep you updated on that progress. It's been funny with limited technology at the house. We just got the TV up and running, and just found a Panera today to get free WiFi. I had 30 emails and yet life went on.....hmmmm funny eh??

Edmond seems to be a great city and we are excited to get out and about an meet some folks. In a ironic twist, we now live less than a mile from LifeChurch.tv's main headquarters. For those of you who don't know, LifeChurch broadcast a live video feed to all it's campuses across the US from one main location...namely across the street from our house. We kinda hated it in Tulsa, and look where we are....hmmmm funny eh??

On another note, Heather is starting to feel the limitations of pregnancy. She can go about 2 hours unpacking and then it's rest time. That's great for me because it allows me to be a hero every now and then (for those who don't know, I have very little muscle definition and sometimes it's hard for me to be a "man"). She is SO cute right now with her little bump, and swears that she has started feeling the baby move around (the baby told me otherwise).

Thanks for checking in on us. Videos and pictures to be posted very soon. If you are curious about what's happening, give us an email! I am very excited about all the change about to happen and I can't wait to start in my new role. Irronically it is less than a mile from the head campus for lifechurch.tv. As I stood in the house today I couldn't help but think about how this will be the place my first child will be when we bring him/her home from the hospital. Crazy.

On a even more surreal and amazing note, our friends Nate and Ginna had their first child on this morning around 7am in Fort Worth. We drove down to see the whole family, and he is absolutely adorable. I've know plenty of people that have had kiddos but I can say honestly that this is the most excited that I've been to see a baby..ever! After Friday afternoon I will no longer be working solely in a store but now will be in charge of managing several stores. I cannot believe it!! After almost 10 years of putting on uniform and tying on that apron I will be seeing the other side of the counter on a regular basis when I go to work. There are the positives and negatives of both but I know that I will miss it.
I started at Starbucks when I was 19 years old and had no idea who I was, what I wanted to do for a living, or where I was going in life. It was just a job and something to do while I went to school at the time. I had no idea how to communicate with people or how to form a relationship with a stranger to save my life. The amount of change that I have gone through because of my job at Starbucks is unreal, and I can truly say that through all the stuff that I have experienced, I would not change a thing about the ride. I have met so many people, had amazing conversations, and been able to so many unreal things all within the framework of serving coffee. I am in full agreement with Orin Smith, former CFO, CEO and president of Starbucks, when he said, "We are in the people business serving coffee". Starbucks has never fully been about the coffee, although it is the best in the world, but about the experience and I can say that legendary experience takes place on both sides of the counter every day.
I'll keep you all posted on the progress of the new job.

New name?

With the news that we are transitioning to Oklahoma City I figured that it would no longer be appropriate to keep our blog's current name. I don't like squirrels. If you have squirrels, you must be willing to lower the asking price or eradicate the pests for me. I can loan you my blow gun, but due to prior misunderstandings with city officials, I cannot undertake the exterminations myself.

Don't worry. I was able to make it over to Southern Hills for two days of the tournament which was amazing. It's one thing to see Colonial and quite another to be involved in a major, especially the last major of the year. The course was beautiful the weather was hot, and there were more people than I have ever seen on a golf course in my life. I was able to sit right at the 18th green on Saturday and watch Erin Ells, John Daly, and many others finish their rounds on the hardest hole on the course (to say it looked challenging is an understatement).

As the last group teed off I witnessed a mass of humanity round the corner of the 18th fairway as Tiger prepared to hit his second shot. Taking a nice 5 iron he flew the ball up over two massive bunkers and past a downhill lie, which would have sent his ball back 50 yards into the fairway, onto the green. As he walked up the fairway to putt in and finish his round everyone stood to their feet and went crazy. He tipped his hat tapped his ball in and walked into the clubhouse like it was nothing. Awesome, just awesome. One thing I can confirm from being so close is that he definitely has the best teeth for a non-three putter in the PGA.

In all seriousness however, seeing him in person solidifies in my mind that he is truly as good as everyone touts and I have a better understanding as to why he is consistently number one in the world ranking time and time again. The stuff he does looks good on TV but in person is just beyond my understanding. I can now tell my children that I saw Tiger at a major...awesome!

The other cool thing was the Tiger's wife, Elin, came into my store every morning to get her and Tiger's drink to take back to him before he began his round. She was very quite but really nice and unassuming. So here is the dork in me....you might be a golfer, attorney, computer expert but I am a coffee expert...it's what I do. And here was my time to shine!!! I had the honor of making Tiger Woods latte all week long which is, to me, the best. I can honestly say that although it was a small thing, I did have a hand in making his experience in Tulsa a positive one.

On a side note: there had been rumors that he likes his lattes made with tigers milk which I neither cannot confirm not deny...it'll be my little secret which I will only release on my death bed. =) Good times!!

Updates updates updates...and updates

SO....after talking to my friend Andy the other day I have come to the conclusion that I must fire my media relations director. Yes, I know it may come to a shock to many of you but we haven't had a Lundy post for a while, and I have no one else to blame but him. So farewell media man (and thanks for the advice Andy =) ).

But back to reality...I do realize that there hasn't been much happening on the ole Lundy blog for a while so I want to apologize and take a second to update everyone on what's happening in our world. I'll try to break it all down in categories to keep it organized.

Family

The biggest news to 1613 East 19th St. is that Heather is pregnant!! As of today she is 13 weeks along and all is going well. Some of you may or may not know, but the baby road has not been an easy one for us and over the past couple of years we have experienced quite a bit of frustration, sadness and confusion over our struggle to have children. However, in Gods good timing, we got pregnant just when we least expected it and it's all worked out very well. Heather has been very ill but seems to feeling better as the weeks pass by.

We recently had our second sonogram and for the first time saw little arms, legs, mouth moving and eyes opening and closing. It is such a surreal feeling for us both and I don't think it's hit me fully just yet. However thank you to all of you who have prayed for us and kept us in your thoughts as we truly see the fruition of Gods work happening right before our eyes. Baby Lundy will be born in early February, so keep checking back for updates on his/her progress. =)

Job

As some of you know the biggest reason we moved to Tulsa was due to an opportunity I had with my job possibly advance to the next level as a district manager. Therefore it is with much happiness that I tell all of you that I was promoted to district manager and will be starting in my new position on September 10th. The position will be in Oklahoma City which means that as of this very moment we are packing things up again and preparing to move during the dog days of summer. Oklahoma City is a very promising place and we are very excited for a change of scenery. We have found a great house in Edmond (where I might be placed) which is just big enough for Heather, the baby and I plus a visitor (start taking numbers now!!!). I am excited for an opportunity to test my skills in this new arena and I am pumped to be surrounded by some great people who will be coaching and mentoring me thru the process.

Golf

Tiger Woods is 7 under here in Tulsa at the PGA Championship.

That's about all I can think about for right now. The idea is, to put it in very basic terms, as follows: people buy or create post cards and write a secret on them and send them to his home address (some have return addresses, some don't). That's it...nothing more to it. The results have been pretty amazing. What started as Warren handing out 300 blank cards at subway stations and street corners has taken a life of it's own to the point where Warren now received 100-200 postcards a day. (Read more about Warren's website and the project at Wikipedia here).

Every week he compiles all the cards he receives and the Saturday night will sift through them all, finding the 20 he finds most web worthy and posts them on his website, <a href="http://postsecret.blogspot.com/"target="_blank">postsecret.com. Here are some examples:

And then there is my personal favorite:

I did not send this one in either, just for the record! =)

The lecture was actually very cool and thought provoking. One of the most interesting things he mentioned relates to something that is near to my heart. He talked about how when he publishes these cards on his sight or in one of his books, he feels like he is adding a voice to this voiceless community of people out there who are alone, afraid, or who just want to vent their thoughts for someone to listen. He spoke about how in the society we live in today people are so busy and on the move that no one has time for one another, and because everyone is so disconnected we have raised a generation of people who don't know how to relate to one another in a face to face manner. Warren feels like the project, now several years and 100,000 post cards in the making has taken on it's own life and has become about so much more than just people telling secrets....I'll let you decided what you think about it. Either way, visit his sight and give it a chance, you might be surprised at what you see.

All that being said, I thought it would be interesting to see if any of you who read this would be willing to post your secret here on the sight. If you want to, please hit respond to this post, and post something anonymously that you think would relate. Maybe no one will....maybe someone will be vulnerable, who knows??

Killoren's New Video

Here is a new video from Nate and Ginna that really breaks down the Sudan crisis and why they are going. So today the Lundys bring you the Tulsa Golden Driller. I distinctly remember this from when I was young, however I don't remember the fact that although it looks very much like a man, the crotch area is VERY androgynous. Scary.

The driller is located near the expo square about 3 miles from our house, and I for one am glad that (s)he is so close. I love to edit pictures in one way or another, just as long as they turn out funnier than there originally were.

First off, Nate sent me this pic from New Years Eve:

What a picture!!! This embodies both how we all felt at that moment (almost 2 am at Old South Pancake house is never a good thing...something must have led to you being there that late) and our individual personalities in one picture.

So out of that I created this wonderment:

If you have any questions about the above picture, just email me.

I have recently found out how to make animated pictures with photoshop, and those of you who have seen my myspace page have seen the infamous "Foot peel out" session:

And now I have a new one which I have entitled "Medal":

And finally my favorite of the night, the Baby K picture. While the verdict is still out, I think it's a boy....and it looks a lot like Nate:

Goodnight and good luck.

Home sweet home??

Today I decided I would take a few hours and drive back to the town that I know as my first hometown (my real hometown will always be Fort Worth), that is Coweta Oklahoma, which is about 20 minutes south east of Tulsa. I drove back through all the streets and places where I spent so much time when I was young and it just wasn't the same. I don't really know what I expected but whatever I thought it would be, it wasn't. I thought a lot about my experiences as a young man and I think the thing that really bummed me out was that I wanted someone to recollect with me...someone who was there with me then, and when could relate to what I was talking about. And as I thought about that I realized that my experience is just that, mine and mine only. There is no way that I could sit in front of you and tell you what I saw, heard, smelled, etc. and expect you to ever understand or appreciate it the way I did or would want you to. Crazy...

As I think further on all of those experiences of my youth, I have come to realize that although none of you will ever know exactly what I'm speaking of when I do speak of them, you, in some way, have or are experiencing the end result of all of them. They are what made me who I am today. This flips me out as I think about how God has laid the framework for all these things to happen and for me to experience to lead me to Him and to His saving grace. How would I have known as a kid riding my bike with my best friends that God would have me back in that exact place 15+ years later. It's too much to think about really. It makes me sad to think that I still to this day trust Him so little to take care of me and to lead me in the right direction when I can look back and see how for almost 30 years He's been there taking care of me. What do I need to learn from this? What does this say about where He has me now and where will I be in the future? Thank God that He is leading this and not me.

All that being said, while I was there today I took pictures and video of some of the memorable places that shaped who I am today. I am going to post them at our picture site, and then be looking for a video to come very soon (sorry for those of you who have been wanting one...they are coming =) ). I know they won't express exactly what I felt as I shot them, but if you are curious as to where I'm from then come check them out and let me know what you think.

The Whistles Go "Wooo"

Since my last post I have been busy busy busy getting into my new store. It is a great store with so many great partners, but it's inevitable that it will take some time for the staff to get used to me, and vica versa. There are so many things to do, just not so much time. Oh well, it will all work out in the wash.
I wanted to comment very quickly on a couple of things that have happened in the past week that I haven't gotten around to mentioning here.

So, ORU is out of the tourney. I can't say I'm surprised, but it's always nice to dream eh?? That's what I love about the madness that is March...to dream the impossible dream.

A&M is actually in the sweet 16 so my man Andy must be happy. I have to say that they have looked awesome and are now my pick to win it all, especially after Texas blew it tonight.

We watched 'Marie Antoinette' on Friday night and although it was a bit girly (what do you expect) I really ended up enjoying it. I have to hand it to Sofia Coppola and her directing style...each of her movies (Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation) has this amazing understated raw emotion and beauty that is so surealistic and draws me into the character unlike many of the films I have seen. I have never initially enjoyed her movies but as I thought on them I realized the genius that is in each, and the bonus is that the soundtracks rock!!! See the movie..I give it a A.

On the flip side, 'The Boy In the Plastic Bubble' was on today. What a joke...don't see it.

I've been re-falling in love with a man named Bubb Rubb and his companion Lil Sis. If you haven't seen the video, check it out below. Each time I watch it I regain a little bit more faith in humanity.

What I love even more, however, is the remix video someone did (see below as well). Let me state first off I (well my job and I) have uprooted her from the one place she has always lived, namely Fort Worth, and in her case that means leaving all her family and friends as well....all of them. As we sat here in our new city the other night we both agreed that it's not just that we miss our friends and family a ton, but there's also the issue that when you are new and alone you have no options with personal contact. You can't just call up your buddies at the drop of a hat and go hang out...at least not yet. So there's that. Also, I started work yesterday which leaves my bride at home by herself during the day. I'm not saying we won't meet people or that this is just too hard for us (come on people, we've only been here a week) I'm just stating what's going on now.
So, back to my bride. She has held up so well, and is taking this with such a great spirit. This is not easy for either of us, especially her and I realize that. She is such a trooper, such a wonderful companion and has been such a servant and caretaker to me during this whole time. What an amazing woman.
I remember when I first saw Heather singing on stage 8 years ago at a little club in Burleson Texas and I would have never dreamed that she would even talk to me. And look at us now. My wife is the most amazing woman in the world, and has always been the one there for me to jabber to about work (and I jabber), to voice my ideas/frustrations/complaints to, to listen to me practice my speeches, to iron my clothes for a big day, to pray for me when I'm not there, etc. etc. etc. I love this woman more than words could express and there is no one I would rather make this move and change with than her.

Thank you sweetie for who you are and what you always do for me every single day.

Love you =)

Monkey

Ok kids, first day over and in the bag, and what a whirlwind. Maybe it's because I've been off a week (actually two weeks off of my normal routine) or maybe it's just because I'm in a new area, but this will take some getting used to. I am so accustomed to just being in a place where I know where I'm going, who I will see, and how they will react like the back of my hand. Not so much anymore. I am going to be challanged (and actually already have been) in my leadership style, how I handle myself with certain personalities, and what I say around EVERYONE. I am in a really uncomfortable position right now, but I know that each day will get better and better. I just have never had to focus so much energy in keeping my mouth shut and watching. I'm tired of preparing for this that and the other and I would rather just dig in and start working with my people as opposed to meeting meeting and then meeting again. But such is life, and I need to understand the backside of the business first in order to be succssful at all. Wow...here we go =).

First day

So I sit here in our study this morning at 5:30am, coffee brewing in the background as I prepare to go in for my first day at my new store. I'm excited, scared, nervous, etc. It is new territory and as David Daniels said before we left, God has all this laid out for us anyways so why be terrified...rather as God told Joshua, "be strong and very courageous".

A few random notes:

NCAA tourney bracket came out and our new local hometown boys, Oral Roberts University made it in this year with a 14 seed in the East division. They will play on Thursday again Washington State at 2:30pm. Check them out.

My prediction for my friend Andy...Aggies win in first round, but get pounded by Louisville in the second.

Take time today to greet someone you maybe have always noticed but never said hi to (a co-worker, student, neighbor). Who knows what is going on in their life at that moment in which you could play a significant role.

Well the coffee is done, so I must go prepare for the day. Pray for Heather and I as we continue our adventure in these unknown parts.

Much Love

First Week

Well, here we are in Tulsa. It's been 5 days already and so far things have been great. Tulsa is (or can be) a much hipper town than I thought...it's all in where you go in town. The move was interesting to say the least and I will expound on this later, but until then you can check out some pics of the move by clicking the link to the right.

Heather and I are holding together well, but are having a fun time learning a new city.

Several key things we've learned in the small time we've been here:

We don't know our directions (i.e. North, South, East and West) as well as we thought

We realize how important it is to greet people who have just moved in, and we have not met any of our neighbors.

We are realizing exactly how important community is. As we sat at dinner the other night, we saw many couples and friends hanging out, laughing, talking...we both looked at each other with that feeling that we just wanted someone to talk to. (Thanks to all of you who have called, sent texts or emailed us...it's kept us going, and we miss you all a ton).

We still have a lot to learn, a lot to explore, and a lot to get used to, but all in all I think Tulsa is a great town. We have a great house with a great guest bedroom (hint hint) and we are ready for any of you to come visit soon. It's getting late, and I must turn in for my first day at work tomorrow, but check back soon for more updates.
