It's a girl!!!

God is good! Our time in Edmond, although short, has been filled with an amazing amount of God’s workings that have led up to our appointment on Thursday, and I would be remiss if I didn’t mention what He has been doing in the Lundy family lately.

Within our first week here we were reconnected with an old friend that Heather used to work with about four years ago. The family is amazing and asked us out to dinner our first weekend here during which we were asked to a Young Life event, which is the organization which he works with, the next evening. Not only did we have a great time at the event but we met several amazing people, one of which was a OB/GYN who practices in Edmond. When we arrived she sought out Heather and I and gave us specific instructions on how to get into her group of doctors so that she could “Take care of us”. We had been very worried about this since we had no idea who we were going to see or how to even go about finding a Doctor not knowing the area. Heather found the doctor’s information and by Monday we had an appointment to see the her that Thursday, which just so happened to be the only day I could have joined her for the visit.

When we showed up on Thursday we had no idea what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. The Doctor has the most wonderful bedside manner of any that we have ever seen. Not only was she very knowledgeable (as all Doctors are) but she took her time with us explaining the ins and outs of everything that we may not have know about fully. She gave us practical advice and guidance and shared her sincere joy with us that this baby was coming along so well. After Heather’s checkup and hearing the heartbeat she informed us that we would need to get an 18-20 week sonogram within the next week if not within the next few days. I asked her if there was any way to get one done that day to which she walked outside and asked her nurse to fit us in as soon as possible that day, which happened to be 30 minutes from that time. Awesome!!

The sonogram was intense as they did all the measurements to make sure all is growing well and looks fine, which it did. All things measured well and the baby is growing at a normal rate (the ass to ankle ratio was almost perfect...better than the doctor had ever seen before, which made me happy). During the sonogram the radiologist kept saying over and over how lucky we were to have our Doctor as she was, in his opinion, one of the best around. Awesome!! And then he let us know that we are having a little girl, my prayer from the beginning. She is a mover and squirmed around like crazy and likes to lay with her hand on her nose like her mom. We could also see her moving her mouth a lot which might indicate that she’s a talker already! The next day the Doctor called Heather at home to talk about the sonogram and to see what we were having and was genuinely joyous with and for us. How awesome is that??

Words cannot express how I feel when I look at these pictures. All I can do is look back to Psalm 139 where David expresses almost the same feelings saying, “For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mothers womb. I will give thanks to You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them”. So often I need control of all things in my life to make sure they will go exactly how I need them to, but this is something I cannot do anything about, I control nothing. Yet God has done more than I could have imagined. Our little girl is being formed right at this moment through God’s workmanship and it is perfect. She has everything she needs and it’s all from Him and there is nothing I can do but sit back in awe and say that He is good and gives us all we need. God bless you all.

With much love,
-Mommy and Daddy Lundy

We love the musings!!

Randomness for all of y'all:

-I started my new job on Monday and I think it's going to be a grand time!! I really really enjoy this area and my peers are very cool. More to come about this later.

-Fantasy football: How can one person really be so bad at this. I know there are a lot of stats to read and homework to do, but it can't be that hard, can it? For the second year in a row I got trashed on my first week and this year I put some serious effort in my draft. Obviosly hard work doth not equal positive results all the time. Maybe it's just my bad attitude that creeping into it all. Here's a perfect example: I get the number two pick for the draft, Steven Jackson, who's going to be my rainmaker....I mean my ace in the hole, my rock, my boy! Week #1 he fumbles twice and gets a whopping 1 point. Great!

- Heather is pregnant and I'm excited.

Stay tuned for more updates from the road around OKC!

A few happenings in Edmond

People are crazy about the OU Sooners here.

and

I suck at Boggle. Heather has creamed me every time we play, and I think she thinks it's funny to take advantage of her semi-illiterate husband. I have read a book, but just have a hard time speling.

More to come.

We're here!!

Well, we're finally here in Edmond! The move went very smooth (or smoothly??) and we are getting settled in. Sorry for lack of posts after the fridge move (one reader was very upset at our lack of progress on blog posts) but we do not have internet access at our new house yet. I am working on a way to rig up our rabbit ears straight into our computer, and I'll keep you updated on that progress. It's been funny with limited technology at the house. We just got the TV up and running, and just found a Panera today to get free WiFi. I had 30 emails and yet life went on.....hmmmm funny eh??

Edmond seems to be a great city and we are excited to get out and about an meet some folks. In a ironic twist, we now live less than a mile from LifeChurch.tv's main headquarters. For those of you who don't know, LifeChurch broadcast a live video feed to all it's campuses across the US from one main location...namely across the street from our house. We kinda hated it in Tulsa, and look where we are....hmmmm funny eh??

On another note, Heather is starting to feel the limitations of pregnancy. She can go about 2 hours unpacking and then it's rest time. That's great for me because it allows me to be a hero every now and then (for those who don't know, I have very little muscle definition and sometimes it's hard for me to be a "man"). She is SO cute right now with her little bump, and swears that she has started feeling the baby move around (the baby told me otherwise).

Thanks for checking in on us. Videos and pictures to be posted very soon. If you are curious about what's happening, give us an email! (It'd make us feel special)

Second by second details

Moving day is finally here...the movers are here doing their thing which leaves us nothing to do but let all of you out there know how things are going. So, as of 10:15am, all is well. These guys are amazing and we should be out of here within the next 2 hours. As for right now we are videoing, taking pictures, watching videos, uploading videos.....you get the idea. Expect more blow by blow details as we prepare to scoot on out of Tulsa. Oh here's some late breaking news....Heather just returned from Panera where she purchased a french (freedom) toast bagel with cream cheese for yours truly!!Keep checking back for updates!!

One more step

Heather and I drove to Edmond today and signed the lease on our new place. I am very excited about all the change about to happen and I can't wait to start in my new role. Irronically it is less than a mile from the head campus for lifechurch.tv. As I stood in the house today I couldn't help but think about how this will be the place my first child will be when we bring him/her home from the hospital. Crazy.

On a even more surreal and amazing note, our friends Nate and Ginna had their first child on this morning around 7am in Fort Worth. We drove down to see the whole family, and he is absolutely adorable. I've know plenty of people that have had kiddos but I can say honestly that this is the most excited that I've been to see a baby..ever! God is great and has worked in every detail in this baby's life already. (God even granted Nate the ability to tell the future...you should send him an email and ask him to predict something!!). Congrats Killorens, we cannot wait to see the little guy's life take shape.

More news and pictures coming very soon!!
